Bogotá – April 29, 2025: Liberty Networks, a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure connectivity in Latin America and the Caribbean, is expanding its network in Colombia as part of its long-term commitment to bridging the digital divide and supporting sustainable growth. This expansion will be reinforced with MANTA, the new subsea system the company announced last year.
MANTA is set to revolutionize connectivity, linking Colombia’s key data hubs with the booming digital centers of Mexico City, Querétaro, and the U.S. East Coast. With the launch of MANTA, Liberty Networks proudly reinforces its commitment to powering the region with cutting-edge, reliable, and scalable connectivity solutions. When paired with industry-leading systems like ARCOS, PCCS, and CFX — the fastest link between Colombia and Miami — MANTA positions Liberty Networks at the forefront of Latin America's digital future.
Recognizing the critical role of connectivity in driving digital inclusion, productivity, and competitiveness, Liberty Networks continues to invest in high-performance, reliable infrastructure across the region. Its expansion strategy in Colombia focuses on enhancing customer experience by deploying new network nodes closer to key business hubs, significantly boosting network performance, reliability, and transmission speeds for enterprise operations.
Today, Liberty Networks operates in 16 cities across Colombia, supported by a metropolitan fiber network spanning over 9,000 kilometers. Colombia also hosts two of the company’s eight data centers, as well as its Customer Support Center (CSC), Network Operations Center (NOC), and Security Operations Center (SOC), which together support operations across Latin America.
“This expansion is a strategic investment that strengthens our infrastructure and deepens our commitment to Colombia,” said Daniel Neiva, Vice President of B2B Latin America at Liberty Networks. “We are fully committed to delivering best-in-class services with superior reliability and performance, supporting sustainable growth and enhancing customer satisfaction.”
As part of its latest expansion, Liberty Networks has activated new Points of Presence (PoPs) in Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali—three key business hubs in Colombia. The new PoPs boost network capacity, coverage, and availability, enabling businesses to access high-speed services such as IP transit, DDoS protection, MPLS, and Ethernet, tailored to meet Colombia’s growing connectivity needs.
Bogotá: Connecting Commercial and Industrial Hubs
In Bogotá, the new PoP in the Restrepo district expands coverage toward the southern, western, and northwestern areas of the capital. Liberty Networks extended its network with proprietary fiber infrastructure, linking key technical sites in Suba and the northern corridor, strengthening its metropolitan backbone with 100G redundant links. This includes major commercial and industrial zones in the nearby municipality of Mosquera.
Medellín: Strategic Expansion in the Aburrá Valley
In the greater Medellín metropolitan area, known as the Aburrá Valley, Liberty Networks has added two new PoPs in Girardota (north) and Rionegro (east), expanding upon its five existing PoPs in the city. The network extension includes strategic fiber deployments across:
-North corridor: Bello–Girardota (extension from the Bello PoP).
-South corridor: Tablazas–Caldas (extension from the Mayorca PoP).
-Metropolitan backbone in Rionegro, covering key areas including the Free Trade Zone, Llanogrande, and Guarne.
Cali: Densifying Network Coverage
In Cali, the expansion focused on densifying Liberty Networks’ infrastructure in strategic commercial and industrial areas, including Acopi, Santa Mónica, and Roosevelt. The upgrade incorporates advanced last-mile access technologies such as XGS-PON, consolidating network reliability and speed.
“Liberty Networks continues to invest in Colombia because we believe in the country’s potential and the strength of its people,” said Patricia Manzano, Country Manager for Liberty Networks Colombia. “Our goal is to deliver the best technology and connectivity to empower businesses and close digital gaps across all regions.”
With these new PoPs and the expanded network footprint, Liberty Networks not only enhances enterprise connectivity but also fosters an ecosystem of innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable economic development, particularly in Colombia.
As part of its broader regional strategy, Liberty Networks remains committed to narrowing the digital divide between the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean—strengthening terrestrial and subsea infrastructure, expanding enterprise-grade solutions, and positioning itself as a key player in the region’s digital ecosystem and business transformation journey.
